The film stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. Ian McKellen plays Gandalf the Grey while Richard Armitage plays Thorin Oakenshield. Andy Serkis plays Gollum. A second film based on Tolkien's "The Hobbit", titled "", was announced in 2011 and released in 2013.
